About Laura

Laura Dimitrova was born in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Graduated from the National Academy of Arts, Sofia, Bulgaria in 1982.

Since 1991 she is a member of the Union of the Bulgarian Artists.

Since 2015 she is professor in decorative arts at FPPE, “St. Kliment Ohridski” University, Sofia.

Since 2013 she is PhD.

She works in the fields of painting, drawing, collage, artistic textile .

She lives in Sofia, Bulgaria.

The Award “James H. Pinto” from 13th International Biennial Festival of Portrait INTERBIFEP, Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina, 2008.

In 2011 she won the award of the Union of the Bulgarian Artists for residency at Cité internationale des arts, Paris , France in 2012.

The award for graphic art from the 6-th Biennial of the Small Art Forms, Pleven, Bulgaria, 2012.

The award of the governor of Stara Zagora district from the Third Balkan Quadrennial of Painting, Stara Zagora, Bulgaria, 2012.

The award for Bulgarian artist from the International Annual Paper Competition of AMATERAS, 2013.

The award of The Art Gallery of Ruse from the 4 International Art Miniature Biennial, Ruse, Bulgaria, 2013.

In 2013 she won the award of the Union of the Bulgarian Artists for residency in Munich and an exhibition at the GEDOK Gallery, Munich in 2014.

In 2015 he won the award of the Union of the Bulgarian Artists for residency in Schwandorf, Germany.
